Alban elved dance company is
available for booking throughout the year. We prefer to book dates a year in advance but are always available on short notice should our schedule allow.
We are accepted into the artists roster for performing artists in South Carolina which will help offset touring costs if the presenting organization is eligible. We are also accepted into the North Carolina Touring Artist Directory.
The company performs full evening length works as well as shorter pieces as part of festivals etc.
We tour nationally and internationally. Some of our works are aerial but the majority is non aerial.
We offer performances also in conjunction with educational and outreach programs
such as master classes, workshops, question answer sessions,
residencies and guest choreography engagements.
alban elved encourages a dialogue between the presenter and
the company to discuss individual situations, requirements
and additional programs such as lecture demonstrations and
classes. The company's work is very diverse and therefore
requirements vary from production to production.
Whether you plan on bringing an aerial piece or an earthbound production, don't hesitate to call us'. We'll be happy to discuss ideas, possibilities and figure a budget for your specific ideas. We love making the impossbile possile.
WHERE WE PERFORM
alban elved's work is not confined to working in theatres only,
other non traditional performance spaces are welcome.
We are interested in coming to your indoor
or outdoor facility to create a site specific piece using and
emphazising it's unique architecture. We have performed in galleries, theatres, streets, inner sity architectural sites, outdoor festivals, hard floors, soft floors ... It all depends on the piece. Each piece has different requirements.
Some pieces are made specifically for small stages and bad floor conditions. Some aerial work does not rely so much on what the floor looks like, but what the rigging points above are made of and where they are located.
Performance requirements vary greatly from piece to piece.
We will discuss your ideas and individual situation to make an
alban elved residency or performance possible!
Some works need a sprung floor others don't.

AERIAL WORK
alban elved dance company takes to the air.
We perform aerial pieces in a variety of settings, indoors and outdoors in theatres or non traditional performance spaces.
THE BASIC RULE FOR TOURING AERIAL WORKS IS: WE NEED TO SEE THE THEATRE/LOCATION!
Before we commit to an aerial production, we need to see pictures, blueprints, drawings of your space, technical details, etc.
We need to see it all. We need to talk to your technical director or facilities manager.
Usually those pictures and technical drawings are sufficient.
If not: A representative of the company has to come to your space to determine whether aerial work is possible in your space and how to rig safely.
Saftey always comes first. We charge a non refundable fee for site visits.
Unless otherwise specified the company does their own rigging and preferably in close collaboration with the theatre's rigger (a union rigger if necessary).
Insurance: alban elved dance compay carries insurance. Presenter must carry insurance as well!

FEES
Fees depend on individual circumstances and are negotiable.
A budget will be drawn up upon receipt of your specific requests. The company generally travels with one technician and will need crew for load in/load out and show support. Lighting should be pre hung when company arrives.
