“Alternate Reality - The Saga of Larrie and Henriette" - Parts I, II and III -

A tragic comic aerial dance theatre duet.

PIECE DESCRIPTION:

"Alternate Reality - The Saga of Larrie and Henriette"
Choreography/artistic director: Karola Luttringhaus

Dance: Andrea Lieske/Lena Rose Polzonetti/Shawn Worthington, Karola Luttringhaus
Set design/comstruction: Karola Luttringhaus
Music: Elliot carter, John Cage
Alternate Reality is a series of tragic comic aerial dance duets featuring the unlikely heroes Larry and Henriette who like Voltaire's 'Candide' keep searching for the best of all worlds. They escape. They fail. And they never give up.
Traveling the universe they will discover strange people and places.

Part I: “Larry and Henriette escape from PLanet Blackwater"
Two lonely characters Larry and Henriette - soon to become space travelers - are stuck on their small planet called “Blackwater”, where they spend day and night on tiny platforms high above a vast and never before seen ocean.
It is so dark on planet Blackwater, it is hard to see far past your own nose, and for years Larry and Henriette didn't even know that they were neighbors. Initial skepticism turns to curiosity and then to friendship. The goal is inevitable. “There must be a better world than this one!”.
After lots of struggling and debating and trying out multiple ways of either escaping or killing themselves they finally discover a possible escape route. They take all their courage together and attempt to climb up the strangely umbilical ropes that confine them, towards an unknown but surely better future.

Part II:"ALTERNATE REALITY ; Larry and Henriette on planet Soloolos , the bouncy planet"
They tried to escape ... they found a way...and...
...for lack of a better understanding or insight: it might have been God who got angry at their revolutionary efforts and separated them. But, after a long, and dangerous time they finally found each other again to continue their search for THE BEST OF ALL WORLDS. On planet Soloolos they discover antigravity, and that they can only walk when twice their weight, but they can't go far, can't get anywhere, so they have to separate one more time and find a way out and hopefully each other again; out there in the unknown.

ESCAPE!!! one more time!

"ALTERNATE REALITY: Larry and Henriette are landing at Vedauwoo"

Larry had found a spaceship and luckily also Henriette, who had found a map. So they
began searching the universe.
Their first stop is on planet Earth. What a strange place. Climbing over boulders in what must have been a sacred old space they discover a most peculiar web. Their curiosity can't be held back. This web has some kind of magic attraction, sucks them in. They climb, fall, try to concur it, but as they finally get to the top they see far enough to realize that this is not the kind of place they were looking for. After searching the area a bit more, they decide to move on.
